LEEK Food Solutions
Sander’s idea was rooted in a clear mission: to help people eat healthier using natural flavorings in the form of pure herb mixes. “I want to offer an alternative to brands like Knorr and Conimex, which often contain unnecessary additives,” he says. To present his herbs properly, he reached out to Rob Engelman from the Pouchfabriek in January 2025. “I was nervous,” Sander admits. “All I had was an idea—no design, no logo. Rob immediately put me at ease and said he was excited to help. He was genuinely enthusiastic about getting LEEK Food Solutions off the ground.”
Strategic packaging
Sander aimed to start selling his herb mixes by March 2025. “I wanted to design the sachets myself, so it was a bit of a sprint,” he recalls. “In those early stages, I had a lot of contact with Rob. He was easy to reach and helped with everything – from text readability on the packaging to which design software to use.” Then came the choice of the right packaging material. “There were many options,” says Sander. “But I ultimately chose small paper sachets – they’re sustainable and recyclable.” Because Sander sells his herbs online, he also had to think about shipping. The solution: a larger stand-up pouch to bundle the sachets. “It even looks nice on the kitchen counter,” he adds. For this pouch, the Pouchfabriek recommended using monomaterial, in light of upcoming PPWR-regulations. “We chose mono-plastic: it’s highly recyclable and ideal for shipping. If it rains or the package gets damaged, the contents stay well protected.”
Double success
Then the big moment arrived: the very first LEEK Food Solutions packaging. What does Sander think? “The quality exceeded my expectations,” he says enthusiastically. “The size is perfect – compact and easy to open. Shipping also works flawlessly.” His customers are just as positive. “I’ve been told the packaging looks cheerful and appealing. It feels like a gift to yourself, and it’s great to give to others too.” That last part surprised him. “Originally, the product was meant for personal use. But thanks to the beautiful packaging, I’ve now created two buying motives. How cool is that?” Sander is now fully focused on selling his herbs. “Whenever I need new packaging, I’ll definitely reach out again,” he says with a smile. He looks back on the collaboration with pride. “The Pouchfabriek truly helped me get my business off the ground. Many companies just focus on processing orders, but the Pouchfabriek felt genuinely involved. They go above and beyond to ensure the best result and support the success of my new brand.”
