“Wholefiber”
Helping people achieve better health. That’s what WholeFiber strives for! The startup has been active in the Benelux with its natural product WholeFiber™ for over two years now. WholeFiber contains no less than 85% prebiotic fibers, promoting a healthy gut flora. In addition to the existing jar packaging, Managing Director Marianne van Es was looking for new packaging. How did she come into contact with the Pouchfabriek?
WholeFiber is sold in physical stores and online. Marianne explains: “For our online sales, we were looking for new packaging that could fit through the mailbox. This desire was also clearly expressed in our customer survey. If the buyer is not home at the time of delivery of a parcel, they have to pick it up at a collection point and be there on time. That’s sometimes inconvenient. It would be more efficient if WholeFiber could just be delivered through the mailbox.” The solution was simple: offer the product in a pouch as well as in a jar! Who could help her with that?
Marianne had several suppliers in mind. “I think it’s important that a partner thinks along, shares knowledge, and advises. These were our first pouches, so I wanted to get it right the first time. Sustainability is important to us: the chosen packaging is 100% recyclable.” At the Pouchfabriek, we invited her for a consultation. “I found the contact very pleasant; it felt right immediately. When I got back in the car, I already received information about the next steps – including delivery times. From the beginning, communication was smooth, and the Pouchfabriek paid a lot of attention to our company.”
At the Pouchfabriek, we provide customers with a design for their pouch. With an existing design, we are also happy to act as a sparring partner. Marianne gave us an initial version of her design. “I received a lot of valuable tips from the Pouchfabriek. For example, they suggested placing ‘100% recyclable’ prominently on the front, as that is unique to the material. This kind of thinking along was exactly what I was looking for: the development of the pouch truly felt like teamwork. I especially appreciated that the Pouchfabriek provided several proposals for the sample packaging. A pouch is easier to judge when you can hold it in your hands.”
The WholeFiber pouches are now on the market. What do customers think? Marianne: “We receive a lot of enthusiastic responses. Users find the packaging very beautiful and especially practical. The fact that the pouches fit through the mailbox is highly appreciated. Customers can choose convenience: the gut health package is automatically delivered through the mailbox every month.” The flexibility of the pouches is apparent in several ways. “Some first order a jar and then order the pouches as a refill. When traveling, a pouch is easier to take along than a jar. The convenience of the pouch turned out to be a major advantage. It was a good choice to introduce this packaging.”
How does Marianne look back on the collaboration? “Very positively!”, she laughs. “The Pouchfabriek was always enthusiastic during the process. I noticed they had a great passion for developing pouches, which gave me a good feeling. We could act quickly, and I am proud of the end result.” Does the collaboration end here? According to Marianne, it doesn’t: “I expect we will need new pouches soon to replenish our stock. I’m happy I can call the Pouchfabriek for this again!”
