“Sustainable pouch for supplements”
Merlijn Meijer had long been passionate about nutrition and health. This year, he decided to turn this interest into action and founded his own company: Nature-is-Calling. In this customer case, he explains how we assisted him with product packaging and thus the launch of his business.
Nature-is-Calling offers medicinal mushrooms aimed at supporting both mental and physical well-being. “These supplements have various benefits,” Merlijn says passionately. “For example, they can boost your energy levels or libido.” Before the webshop went live, he researched which packaging best suited his vision. “I quickly decided on pouches. The environment is very important to me, and these packages contain significantly less plastic than jars.”
A pouch for natural supplements – at Pouchfabriek, we have already helped many start-ups with this. Merlijn quickly found us online. “I immediately saved Pouchfabriek as a potential partner,” he says. “Especially because I could start with a small quantity at this company. That was ideal since I was just starting. I wanted to keep production low at first because I wasn’t sure how the products would be received. The low minimum quantity at Pouchfabriek saved me a lot on purchasing costs.”
Merlijn soon called Pouchfabriek for an appointment. His first impression? Merlijn: “The contact was personal and approachable. Communication could be done via WhatsApp instead of email. That’s much faster and easier. It gave me a good feeling that they took the assignment seriously, but their working method wasn’t too formal.” At Pouchfabriek, we started working on packaging for three different products from Nature-is-Calling: Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, and Chaga. Merlijn designed the pouches himself. “I already had an idea of how the packaging should look: Kraft paper with light colors, so the green color of the logo stands out nicely.” Our design team was ready to brainstorm, which Merlijn was very happy with in retrospect. Merlijn: “They helped me with the file type, for instance, ensuring that the design I created would look good on the pouch.”
The first product packaging for Nature-is-Calling became a reality. Merlijn: “I had set a deadline for the launch of the webshop for myself and had built in some margin for safety. In the end, that margin turned out to be unnecessary: the pouches were delivered well in advance.” Merlijn is now thinking about launching a new product. “I would love to work with Pouchfabriek again for this,” he says. “The process went smoothly from start to finish. The pouches are of high quality and look attractive. I am very satisfied.”
